Rolls-Royce adopted the silver winged female figurine as their automobile mascot
On the 6th February, 1911, the “Spirit of Ecstasy” silver-winged female figurine was adopted by the British automobile manufacturer, Rolls-Royce.
One of the fathers of television, Vladimir Zworykin, despised what it had become, and once said of it, “I would never let my own children watch it.”
