The first successful non stop flight around the world was made

A B-50 Superfortress took off from Carswell airforce base in Fort Worth, Texas. Captain James Gallagher and a crew of 14 completed the trip on the 2nd of March after traveling for 94 hours. The USAF B-50 was refuelled mid air by KB-29 tankers.
