C. Gassner patented his galvanic (dry cell) battery
On the 8th April, 1886, Carl Gassner Jr. received a German patent for his Galvanic Battery, an early dry cell battery.
Golf and football were both banned in Scotland in 1457, because they had become too much of a distraction from the war effort against England.
