On the 16th April, 1842, Salvin F. Kellogg received a patent for his Air-Heating Stove.
When Edward Berner could not serve his customer flavoured soda water on the Sabbath, he served him up a bowl of ice-cream topped with chocolate ice-cream soda flavouring - the first ice-cream sundae!
