On the 23rd April, 1867, William E. Lincoln received a patent for his new toy, the Zoetrope, which was an early version of a motion picture machine.
Bourbon was created by a clergyman. Rev. Elijah Craig distilled whisky from maize, and named it after his home in Bourbon County, Kentucky.
