On the 28th April, 1896, Joseph S. Duncan received a patent for his Addressing-Machine.
When Edward Berner could not serve his customer flavoured soda water on the Sabbath, he served him up a bowl of ice-cream topped with chocolate ice-cream soda flavouring - the first ice-cream sundae!
