On the 7th May, 1875, the German ocean liner SS Schiller sank near the Isles of Scilly, killing 335 people.
Bourbon was created by a clergyman. Rev. Elijah Craig distilled whisky from maize, and named it after his home in Bourbon County, Kentucky.
