Levant M. Richardson patents an improved roller skate
On the 9th December, 1884, Levant M. Richardson received a patent for his new roller skate design which used steel ball bearings inside the wheels, making skating much easier.
The first drinking straws were used in ancient times by beer drinking Sumerians, to filter out the solid by-products from fermentation.
